Kristin, please read this post about Meniere's
Kristin, I hope my comments find you well. I also have Meniere's disease. I was nearly crippled by it when it first struck in 2000. I was finally diagnosed correctly with Meniere's in about 2002. Like you, I also lived the monk's life of taking salt out of my life, sleeping on an incline, trying to lower my stress level, etc. I still suffered miserably but soldiered on as best I could because I had a wife and 2 kids depending on me. After searching the universe for relief and second opinions, I finally came across Dr Robertson at the California Ear Institute in Palo Alto, CA. He pioneered shunt surgery for Meniere's and performs about 50 per year. Simply put, it gave me my normal life back and I was able to leave the monk life behind. I hope you will reach out to him if you haven't already and let him work his magic. There is no reason to suffer needlessly. Best Wishes, KP
