I'm a bookseller and just finished an Advanced Readers Copy of the book. I really liked what she had to say in it. I've grown up too conservative for my liberal friends and too liberal for my conservative friends, so it's great to hear a story about being yourself even when it's not popular. There's no mold for people, we're just people. I'm also an actress an co-owner of a community theater out here in MT, so hearing behind-the-scenes stories was really fun.
Just a note on IGOTSDEALWITIT's comment about the audience member who had Tourettes, I'm sorry that her story was offensive to you. I don't have to deal with Tourettes, but I've known several people who do and I felt like she was just telling a story. She was thankful to him for attending and had no negative things to say about the experience, she just was sharing what it's like to do live theater and never know what's going to happen on the stage or off of it. That's what makes it interesting and fun! Please don't stay home! Get out there and shake up the people who expect others to act in a certain way. We can all learn something by interacting with those who are different than us!
Keep it up, Kristin! If you ever feel like visiting a small town in Montana for a booksigning, I can hook you up! We have beautiful mountains and great community theater (if I do say so myself!). I can promise any seat in the house!
